PADI
THE CREW

John - Owner/Director
Owner and director of Fly & Dive. Starting the company about 17 years ago. To teach together with his wife. It started small at home and developed as the company you'l find at Surf side beach, next to Papas Beach Club. After all those years John needs a cup of coffee to wake up in the morning and in the evening you can find him enjoying the sunset, drinking a beer before he goes to sleep. If he gets tired of everything, he jumps in his plane to enjoy and gets some rest on one of the other islands!!

Jack

Like his name says: Jack of all trade. Taking care of logistics and always ready with coffee all day long, this is the person you'll probably encounter picking you up at your hotel. He is everybody's best friend. After 45 years in Holland, he left for Poland, Australia, Aruba, St. Martin and Aruba again. Loves his dogs and makes a mean casserole of Beans. Don't forget to ask about the recipe girls, since he knows how to cook. And yes, he also is single.......

Under Development

Mark Fisher - off on a new adventure - Manager/MSDT #233442
Mark was selling t-shirts and flip flops and diving once a day when he decided to become a “real diver!”
John was approached by some of Mark’s buddies that were already on Aruba that Mark was looking to come over.
Once John had assured Mark’s mother that he would be in good hands; Mark relocated to Aruba with S.E.Aruba Fly’n Dive.
With his bleached blonde hair from many pool training sessions and his blue eyes and stature our guests call him the “VIKING”.
And yes just like Arie, Mark is still SINGLE!!!!!

Wade Wurm - off on a new adventure. - MSDT/ Instructor #498862
Specialties: Digital Underwater Photography, Deep, Enriched Air, Wreck, Night

Two years ago Wade decided it was more important to live the dream and explore the world than it was to live to work.
In his words “it is important to squeeze that five minutes of magic out of every day than it is to possess that new BMW or keep up with the Joneses”.
So Wade embarked on a world wind adventure seeking what is really important in one’s life.
He is sure on his death bed he wouldn’t regret not buying that new BMW. But he is sure he would regret not living an adventure.
After travelling across Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, and East Africa he has settled in Aruba with S.E. Aruba Fly’n Dive.
He has made a huge change in his life.
From a mechanical professional in the cold northern British Columbia, Canada to a scuba diving professional in the tropics of the Caribbean.
His diving customers repeatedly tell him that he is living their dream.
He likes his dream.
Join him and start living your dream.

Wanda Wurm- off on a new adventure - Customer Service
Specialties: Smiles

Wanda is living her dream of living on a tropical island.  She has left behind the cold winters of Northern British Columbia, Canada to experience the flavour of Aruba.
Only recently certified in scuba diving.  On her days off she can be found on the dive boat joining the customers for some relaxing dives.

Free-lancers:
Once in a while the crew needs reinforcements. These people help us out when things really start to get crazy. You might encounter them while diving with us.

Tristan - Rescue diver

This young fellow, while still attending school, was looking for a side job.
In return he was able to become a diver: Started off with open water, then advanced open water and Rescue diver.
As he still has to wait a couple of years before becoming a DM, (due to the min age of 18) you’ll find him helping out with all kind of things.

Only available certain days in the week and school vacations, he is a valuable asset to us.

Little add, HE IS 18!!! This means he is a divemaster now!!

Arie - Security Guard

He is the dive shops lifeguard. Joined the team at puppy age.
Loves to sleep and not to be bothered, just like his boss. Always friendly, keeps up the name of friendliest dive shop on the island,
And last but not least, also single......

Gino Giannone - Underwater Photographer and Videographer (Volunteer) #273765

Gino has recently become a certified Open Water Instructor and is ready to teach scuba diving. During the weekends, he enjoys photography and videography. He will make a personalized movie of your dive, heaps of underwater photos and unique waterproof stickers for you to take home. He has experienced dives with school of sharks , manta rays, whales and whale sharks around the globe, feel free to ask him about travelling for the best diving places. Gino will be on the dive boat at the weekends and night dives (smile pretty) he's watching you. In addition, if you want take your memories home with you he is the guy to talk to.

Willem - DM/EFRI/CFCI #971126

Our Flying Dutchman. Willem is an old friend of the dive shop. Coming down on Aruba for diving two, three times a year, he finally realized that taking some of the continuing education programs can be beneficial. Becoming a rescue diver was the first step. Becoming a DM was the next and now he is combining his vacation with his passion. He loves to educate people to dive in a correct way, and although not his goal, we in the shop see him become Instructor sooner or later.

Jack Plum - PADI Divemaster #242696
Specialties: Drift dives and Wreck dives!

Jack was certified in 1963 and spent the first part of his diving career working on scientific and research projects, solo diving, as well as police and recovery diving on the Great Lakes and in upstate New York. After too many dark sewer pipes, he decided that the clear warm waters of Aruba suited him better. Jack enjoys drift dives on the south shore and his favorite locations are Pos Chiquito, the Jane C. wreck, and the Sonesta airplanes. You can find him diving with his daughters, Mark Pasik, or assisting on our south shore dives. He is also interested in the medical aspects of diving and treating dive injuries.

When you see him, ask him about the early days of diving before bouyancy compensators, computers, and high tech regulators and where "horse collars" and twin hose regulators were the normal gear and a pressure guage was a luxury item.

Mark Pasik - PADI Dive Instructor and Master SCUBA Diver Trainer #MSDT 233580
Specialties: Wreck diving specialty

Mark Pasik, PADI Dive Instructor and Master SCUBA Diver Trainer - Mark's
passion and love for diving is evident in his instruction. His background
is both introductory diving, as well as advanced diving and specialties.
Shore diving, boat diving or drift diving with Mark is a great experience
and he has a great eye for picking out the marine life. However, his true
love is diving wrecks and he has dove the wrecks from the Great Lakes of
the United States, the Graveyard of the Atlantic Ocean, through the
Caribbean Seas. Tap his knowledge of wreck diving and have him take you
on a tour of the wrecks of Aruba including the Antilla, Jane C,
Pendernillas, Debby 2, the airplanes or the Star Garren. Better yet, ask
him about a wreck diving specialty! His passion for diving will shine, as
he guides you on the sites of Aruba.
