DIVEMASTER

Divemaster Open doors you have only imagined. Becoming a divemaster is the first step in professional diving.

If there is a common characteristic of what a Divemaster is, responsibility is the most accurate term. The Divemaster is responsible for people, responsible for planning, responsible for orientation, and at some time, responsible for nearly every aspect of safe diving.

Becoming a Divemaster allows you to:
  • Work on diveboats and at resort locations
  • Assist Instructors with courses
  • Lead scuba divers on guided dive tours
  • Conduct the Discover Local Diving and the Scuba Review program
The divemaster course consists of three modules: knowledge development, waterskills and practical application. Twelve topics make up the knowledge development module. You'll cover these 12 topics through independent study, projects and discussions. The water skills module has two goals; to develop and evaluate your overall waterskills and to improve your existing scuba skills. You'll also refresh and refine your rescue skills.

Divemaster The practical application module allows you to learn and practice divemaster skills by applying what you learn during the other two modules. You'll begin by completing four required training exercises, implementing a divemaster-conducted program and managing a dive accident scenario. You also have a chance to develop and practice divemaster skills with actual student divers and certified divers, of course under instructor supervision. A world of adventure awaits all those who wish to achieve the rating of divemaster.
