PADI
SPECIALTIES

Specialties You love wreck diving? Or maybe you would like to know more about the under water marine life..., or you tried a drift dive in your PADI advanced open water course and want to specialize yourself in that....? With the PADI Specialty Diver Programs you can chart your dive experience with some great dives.

Achieving PADI Specialty ratings takes from as little as one day to a full weekend. Below is an overview of the specialty certifications we offer. Get five specialty ratings and you're on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver.

Here is some information about common specialties often taught in our shop:
Deep Diving
We offer a combination of the above two mentioned specialties. Add some depth to your diving adventures... As a general rule divers tend to be adventurous people and deep diving, for example to visit a wreck, can certainly be called adventurous. This course expands your diving knowledge about deep diving limits, deep diving equipment, deep diving techniques, nitrogen narcosis, decompression sickness, and other topics.

Multilevel
Multilevel Diving is a technique for extending your bottom time beyond the no decompression limit of the RDP. You accomplish this by ascending to shallower levels during the dive. In this specialty your diving knowledge will be expanded with topics as no decompression limits, The wheel and dive computers, multilevel dive equipment, multilevel dive hazards and other topics

Wreck Dive Specialty Wreck
Also these two specialties offer good opportunities to combine.
Wrecks fascinate many divers. What is inside them, what sank them and what did they look like before they went down. Explore wrecks and get a glimpse of the unknown. You'll learn topics as wreck diving law, hazards to avoid, how to research wrecks and the basics of wreck penetration.

Boat Dive Specialty Boat
The boat specialty increases your knowledge on topics about boat terminology, types of boats, safety/emergency equipment for boat diving, boat diving preparation, boat diving procedures and other topics.

Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)
It's a matter of time! With Enriched Air you can safely extend your no decrompression time. Especially in the 15 meters/50 feet to 30 meters/100 feet range enriched air can significantly lengthen your no decompression time for a single depth dive. As you'll learn, enriched air extends dive time by replacing some of the nitrogen in air with oxygen, so you absorb less nitrogen during the dive. The higher oxygen brings with it new concerns that you don't have using air within recreational diving limits. The benefits of having less nitrogen in the breathing gas means:
- More bottom time than air at any depth
- Or safer margin for the same bottom time
- Or less surface interval between dives
- Or any combination of the above
- and less narcosis than air at any depth

Night Diving
See the underwater world in a whole new light...At first it seems a little scary perhaps, but as your eyes adjust to the dark you relax, recognizing the familiar paths and trees. It's the same place you've seen many times during the day, yet somehow different. This course expands your knowledge about night diving equipment, evaluating dive conditions at night, using and maintaining dive lights, night navigation, aquatic life and other topics.

Underwater Navigation
Head your diving in the right direction... Mastering under water navigation has many tangible benefits that apply to every dive you make. This specialty unlocks the mysteries of under water navigation, you'll learn about environmental clues that help you navigate, how to use a compass for precision, patterns that aid navigation, navigational instruments and other topics.

Drift
Drift Dive Specialty Drift diving will give you a whole new perspective. Don't fight against the current but join it... Drift diving can give you a real adrenaline pump. At some drift dive sites the current rips you along far faster than you could swim. Some divers compare drift diving in clear water to hang-gliding or horizontal sky diving. In this course you get to develop your knowledge in types of drift diving, drift diving equipment, drift dive techniques and procedures, drift diving hazards and other topics.

Underwater Photography
... exploring reefs, under ice, at altitude, or on wrecks... if there's something worth seeing, there's something worth photographing. This makes underwater photography a pursuit that mixes well with your other diving activities, and one that permits you to share the underwater world with non divers. Topics as how to handle the sun light, depths, color ranges and use of flashlight will be handled. Also you'll learn all you have to know about your photo equipment.

Naturalist Specialty Underwater Naturalist
It is a crowded world down there, but you see not even half of it mostly. In this specialty you will learn more about the marine life, where to find them and how to recognize them. The main thing is knowing where and how to look! The more you practice this, the more interesting your dives will become. You will also learn something about the interaction between all marine life.
